Odd Conversion

Here is a crazy idea that popped into my head. I thought about swaping the front of a del sol, onto the front of a 92 civic hatch. Just fenders, bumper, and hood. Anyone think this is possible without cutting or welding? Simple bolting?

I've seen both del Sols with EG front ends and EGs with Sol front ends, as well as EGs and Sols with JDM ITR and USDM Teg fronts. So it's not impossible.

I believe the Civic/Sol fronts can swap pretty directly. Wouldn't you have to cut the fenders and reweld them though? Or would Civic fenders match the Sol's doors well enough?

This conversion looks great though. Good luck if you go through with it.

The front radiator support has to be changed to put on a Civic, Integra, or a Prelude front end on the Sol so it works the reverse to put on a Sol front to a Civic. The support is spot welded on, so some welding is required. Also I heard you have to do some work at the window pillars to match it up (that's where the cutting come up), I've never looked that close even though my daughter has a '93 Civic. And the fenders match but you wouldn't have the dip in the fender for the rubber bumper stuff they put on some models to protect the doors from door dings at the sides.

wow, i didn't know the prelude radiator support fit also, learn something new every day!

but the common fix for the a pillar and fender meeting area is to clip the last 6 inches off of both of the fenders (del sol and civic) and then weld them accordingly. That way, everything bolts up quite nicely!
